Collaboration and Harmony

When you can see what people have in common and also what is unique to them, you can encourage harmony and collaboration within a team. Where uniqueness is in strong opposition, you may need to find a way to reduce what seems different or to create enough distance between those members for the tension to be useful and not destructive.

Any exclusive “us and them” thinking needs to be replaced by a sense of common shared humanity. That is a far more natural state than we might have been indoctrinated to think.

To be in harmony with others, though, also requires feeling safe, so it is good to have the boundaries you need in place and to have them respected.

Finally, bringing people into harmony requires complete transparency and openness, free of hidden agendas.

A team aligned this way is a powerhouse of creativity, productivity, and innovation. It is hard to overestimate the value of such an asset.
