Hiding Your Light
The world and just about every feed in it will have heartfelt encouragement to “Let your light shine out”, “don’t hide your light under a bushel”, and many other variations.
It’s good advice not to let self-doubt stop us from being the best we can be.
But in some circumstances, it is highly inadvisable. There are situations where demonstrating bright, insightful creativity may bring down the wrath of unbalanced, poorly integrated people who happen to hold real power in your life.
Then it is an excellent skill to be able to keep your peace and strategize a way out of the context in which it is happening. That may take some time and persistence, but if you quietly nurture your light and integrity, you will avoid exposing it to attack, and it will be a powerful resource for keeping you going as you work your way free of the situation.
You may even be able to see very clearly exactly what’s wrong, but be in no position to effect change. In that case, you don’t want to be “Letting your light shine out”. You want to keep it safe and work on the escape tunnel.
