Gatherings

It’s a time of year for gatherings of different kinds.

Social and family gatherings (3safety permitting), maybe seeing people and relatives we haven’t seen for a while.

But the time of year is also for gathering in other ways. In many traditions in the Northern hemisphere, it is a time of reduced activity and increased reflection, pulling together the experiences of the past year, learning, and perhaps making plans.

Maybe it is good to have a period that isn’t too frantically busy, avoiding getting too overwhelmed by holiday preparations and the saturation spend, spend advertising.

This year, why not emphasize being present with the people you are with and schedule some quiet, alone time? Maybe actually put it on your calendar for an hour a day over the season.

It’s an excellent period over which to gather together your inner resources for the New Year as well.

Allowing things to be quieter and calmer will facilitate a gathering of happiness.
