Wary of Enthusiasm?

It is as easy to find ourselves swept away by enthusiasm as it is to be creatively energized.

If experience has taught us to be wary of too much enthusiasm or entering too easily and completely into its attractions, that may be no bad thing.

Enthusiasm prompted entirely by outside influences is worth being cautious about; it does not really flow from within us, having found an echo there, but is more a case of going along with something, maybe because we feel we have nowhere else to go.

But if the enthusiasm we feel is an answering call from within, it is more trustworthy, though caution about diving in headfirst should remain.

Then again, we may find ourselves moved by enthusiasm from within that leads us into confusion because we cannot immediately see where it might lead. We know we are feeling our way in the dark, but then we get results from our explorations and begin to see the path to sustainable achievement.
